Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 5, 2026 · Last updated: October 9, 2026
Starlight Shadow, LLC (“Starlight Shadow,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, our software (MFPrompter and MFCountdown) and any services or custom projects we provide, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have, including rights under California law (the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, the California Online Privacy Protection Act, and California’s “Shine the Light” law).
Information we collect
| Category | Examples | Source | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|---|

| Internet and device information | IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring site | Automatically, through our website host | To operate, secure and improve the website |
We do not collect sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers, financial account credentials, precise geolocation or health information) through our website, and we do not use any personal information to infer characteristics about you.
Our software. MFPrompter and MFCountdown run on your own computer. Your scripts, timers and settings are stored on your device, and our software does not send usage data or your content to us.
- If you choose to link Google or Microsoft documents, MFPrompter connects directly to those services using your own sign-in, which is kept on your computer.
- Phone and tablet remotes connect over your local network.
- If you choose to send us a debug log or support bundle, you decide what it includes. Logs never contain passwords, sign-in tokens, account emails or script text.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the past 12 months.
We disclose personal information only to:
- Service providers that help us run our business, such as our website host, email provider, and payment and accounting providers, under contracts that limit their use of the information;
- Your team or collaborators, when you ask us to coordinate with them on a project;
- Authorities or others when required by law, or to protect our rights, safety or property.
Cookies, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Our website host may use cookies and similar technologies needed to operate and secure the site. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not allow third parties to track you across other websites through our site.
Our website does not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because we do not track visitors across third-party sites. We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
How long we keep information
- Contact messages: up to 2 years after our last communication, unless they become part of an order or project.
- Order, invoice and payment records: as long as required for tax and accounting purposes (generally 7 years).
- Materials you send us, such as scripts: kept confidential and deleted within 90 days after the project, unless you ask us to keep them longer or delete them sooner.
- Website technical data: as set by our website host.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and handle materials you send us confidentially.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we have collected about you, including the categories, sources, purposes and the categories of third parties we disclose it to;
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell or share it);
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect it);
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
How to make a request. Email info@starlight-shadow.com with the subject line “California Privacy Request.” We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time (up to an additional 45 days), we will tell you why.
Verification. To protect your information, we will ask you to confirm details that match what we hold, such as your name and the email address you used with us.
Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We may ask for proof of the agent’s authorization and ask you to verify your identity directly.
Shine the Light. California residents may ask whether we disclosed personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing in the past year. We do not make such disclosures. You can still send a request to the email address above.
Children’s privacy
Our website, services and software are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Reviewing and updating your information
You can ask to review or correct the personal information you have given us at any time by emailing info@starlight-shadow.com.
Third-party services
Services you choose to connect to our software (such as Google, Microsoft, OBS or Stream Deck) and websites we link to are governed by their own privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on our website.
